    1. JRI will be presenting their plans at the Historic District Committee meeting – not the Historical Commission – on December 9, 2015. Please contact the Sandwich Building Department for details. The Historical Commission has not seen the plans.

  1. Does historic Sandwich need more traffic? For the past 17 years getting out of our driveway onto Route 6A is a challenge in winter months; the rest of the year getting out of our driveway onto Route 6A is nearly impossible. We regularly endure 5 mph bumper-to-bumper traffic from 11am – 6pm on weekends from May – September!!! This traffic issue has been publicly discussed several times in the CCTimes.

Justice Resource Institute already has an alternative school in Sandwich located at 117 Stowe Drive, Sandwich. What would this proposed alternative school do to preserve or enhance the integrity of the Sandwich Historic District??? The SHC bends over backwards to preserve falling down historical buildings in close proximity to the proposed site, the proposed project will NOT add to the historical integrity of the Sandwich Historical District.

    1. JRI is scheduled to meet with the Historical Commission for more informal discussions at a public meeting on February 4, 2015. Meetings are held at the Town Archives inside the Sandwich Public Library, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

All members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting and engage in public forum to voice your concerns to the Commission and JRI.
